In Bulgaria we celebrate 1st of March as a “Day of Grandmother Marta (March)”. People give martenitsa to other people as a gift and wish health, luck and prosperity. And then, everyone should take martenitsa off when see for the first time in the Spring a stork or swallow or fruit tree with blossom and should hang martenitsa on the tree.
