The Cyrillic alphabet, along with the Glagolitic, is one of the two alphabets used in the recording of the Old Bulgarian literary language. The Cyrillic alphabet was founded in the Preslav School of Literature in the late IX or early X century. Nowadays, the Cyrillic alphabet is widespread among the southern and eastern Slavic peoples in Eastern Europe and among some non-Slavic peoples in Asia.
